BlowUp Resizing Limits

ISSUE

BlowUp won't enlarge anything beyond 30,000 pixels.

SOLUTION

The output size of images in BlowUp is limited to a maximum of 30,000 pixels in width or height. This limitation is due to our representation of pixel coordinates, which is 15 bits.  The largest 15-bit integer is 32,767.  This choice was made for performance and memory reasons.  We regret that this limit is too small for a few of our customers (some bus wrap and billboard folks in particular).  Unfortunately, increasing this limit will require major surgery throughout BlowUp and will not happen soon.

APPLIES TO

  • BlowUp
