Activation Issues with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

In some cases, upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard causes the activation data for recent Alien Skin products to be lost.  This can cause error messages to appear when you try to run the plug-in, or for the product to revert to trial mode.

If you have already upgraded to Snow Leopard and your product has reverted to trial mode, please try to activate again.  If you are running Blow Up 2 or Bokeh and are receiving an activation related error message, please update to the latest version and try to activate again.

Here are links to the latest versions of Bokeh and Blow Up 2:

If your product continues to revert to trial mode please follow the instructions below to fix this issue:

Download the zip file from the link below:

https://backup.filesanywhere.com/fs/v.aspx?v=906d6a875a64a3b2aaaf

     • Restart the Mac and open the file called    “NalpeironProtectorV_6_1”, and run the application called NalpeironDaemon6
     • In the Snap Art Folder right click (or Control click) on the Snap
Art Plug-In file and choose “Show Content”, look in the Mac OS   folder and find the file named “ Snap Art 2.aux.dylib” and drag it  to the desktop.
     • Replace it with the file you downloaded earlier
     • Repeat the same operation with the Bokeh folder
     • Restart the Mac and try to run Snap Art and Bokeh again and see if the problem is resolved.

If you get a message that you have no more activations left please send an email to Support with your license code(s) and a request to reset your activation.

If you have not yet run the Snow Leopard upgrade, we suggest that you deactivate Blow Up 2, Bokeh, and Snap Art 2 before you run the Snow Leopard upgrade process.  Once the upgrade completes, you should be able to successfully reactivate your products.  For more information about how to activate and deactivate, please visit this article: Product Activation and Deactivation.

Some Alien Skin plug-ins released before 2008 do have compatibility problems with version of Mac OS X 10.5 and later. For updates that resolve these problems, please visit this article: Plug-ins crash on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Applies to:

  • Blow Up 2
  • Bokeh
  • Snap Art 2
