In our newest products, such as Blow Up 2, Bokeh, and Snap Art 2, we have implemented a new activation scheme much like Adobe has in Photoshop. Our Windows installer will create a Windows Service titled “Nalpeiron Licensing Service“ and our Macintosh installer will install a daemon titled “ProtectV” in the MacHD/Library/StartupItems folder. These components do not contain any viruses, adware, malware, etc. These components must be left installed and running for our products to function. Some of the more common error codes you will encounter such as -11, -84, or -151, occur when the service is not running properly. If you have the service blocked or turned off, turning it on and restarting will often cure the issue. If not, contact Alien Skin Support with your registration code.
You can install these products on as many computers as you own, but you may only activate each product on two machines at any one time. To activate your software, launch the program and then from the help menu choose "Activate", and enter your registration code. In order to use your software on a third or fourth machine, you will first need to deactivate one of the previous installations. IMPORTANT: Uninstalling or dragging the program folder to the trash will not deactivate the software. Instead, choose "Deactivate" from the Help menu in the product user interface.
If you plan to transfer or get rid of the computer, choose the option to erase the serial code from the machine.
If you plan to use the program on this machine at a later date do not erase the serial code and the computer will store your settings and re-activation will be a simple matter.
