Question: I have a little problem with my EyeCandy 6. If I choose »create output in new layer« I get a new layer with the Picture AND the shadow. But I want only the shadow in a seperate layer like it does in EyeCandy 5. How can I get this old function back?
Answer: We changed the behavior in Eye Candy 6. Follow these steps to get the Eye Candy 5 behavior:
1. Instead of running the Perspective Shadow filter on a layer, first create an empty layer below the current layer (Menu: Layer > New > Layer).
2. Load the contents of your original layer as a selection (Menu: Select > Load Selection).
3. Run the Perspective Shadow filter on the empty layer you created in step 1 with the selection you loaded in step 2. The shadow will now be applied on its own layer, just like in Eye Candy 5.
